- About
All current students looking for campus housing have the option to live in either a residence hall or apply for group housing units. For housing rates, see this application in eRezLife.
Residential Living Requirements
Rockhurst University has a residency requirement that requires all full-time students to live with their parents or on campus unless they meet one or more of the following conditions:
- Students classified as a junior have completed 60 hours post high school with at least a "C" average or who have lived on campus for four semesters
- Students who are age 23 or older
- Students who have completed active, full-time military service
- Students who have a spouse or dependents living with them
If you do not meet any of the requirements above and opt to live with your parents you must turn in a Residency Exemption Form. The form must be completed for freshman and sophomore students who do not live on campus. Each student must submit either a Residency Exemption form or a Housing Contract. Freshman and sophomore students who do not return either form will be assigned to University housing. Students will be subject to a prorated housing and meal plan if confirmation is received after the start of the academic year. There is no Housing or Meal Plan refund after the 4th week of classes for any given term.
Please follow the housing application instructions below.
1.Returning Students who wish to live in Rockhurst campus housing must complete this application in eRezLife . Note that this application is for the entire academic year (fall and spring semesters). Each student must complete an individual online application, even if you wish to apply for a group living option. Within the application you’ll select your preferred place to live.
2.Next, if you are applying to live in group housing– or with a specific roommate in the residence halls, you will need to form a group with your roommates. All group members must have completed their housing application in order to be added to a group. Give your roommate group a unique group name! One roommate can create a name for your roommate group, and then invite the others to join. You will invite others by using RU email addresses. All students have to agree for the group to be finalized.
3.Each individual roommate will need to confirm their roommate group membership! When membership is confirmed, you will see a GREEN checkmark! If you wish to live in THV or Rock Row your group will have a group score calculated and assigned (a composite score of individual scores for GPA, credit hours completed, logged service hours earned in 2022, and good conduct).
If you are interested in living on campus with other students who share or affirm your identity, visit our Transgender and Non-Binary Housing page for more information.

THV, Rock Row, and Kateri communities remain open during Fall Break,Thanksgiving Break, Winter Break and Spring Break.
