  • About

The Office of Residence Life's goal is to provide a safe and pleasant environment for all of our on-campus students.  We strive to provide opportunities for you to learn, play, grow, and connect with the community around you. RU feels strongly about the on-campus living experience and believes it gives you an opportunity for continued leadership and learning.

Residential Living Requirements

Rockhurst University, Troost campus only, has a residency requirement in which all full-time students must live with their parents/guardian (where they lived during their senior year of high school) or on campus unless they meet one or more of the following conditions:

  • Students classified as a junior have completed 60 hours post high school with at least a "C" average or who have lived on campus for four semesters
  • Students who are age 23 or older
  • Students who have completed active, full-time military service
  • Students who have a spouse or dependents living with them.

Each student must submit a Housing Contract or a Residency Exemption Form.  First year and sophomore students who do not return either form will be assigned to University housing until the University receives the appropriate form. Students may be subject to a prorated housing and meal plan if confirmation is received after the start of the academic year.  There is no Housing refund after 4th week of classes for any given term.

Meal Plan Requirement
Students residing in a residence hall or a THV are required to purchase a meal plan each semester.  OCH, Rock Row and Kateri Community residents may choose from several options.  For more information visit Dining Services.

Accommodation Information
If you require housing accommodations due to a documented disability-related condition, you need to discuss your situation with April Gray, Disability Resource Center Coordinator at 816.501.4037 or visit Disability Resource Center. Access Services is responsible for providing services to students with disabilities and is available to consult with other areas of campus regarding ADA accessibility issues.

We look forward to having you on campus.
