RU Academic Advising supports student success and helps students explore and learn about programs of study. RU supports a mixed model of advising by providing students with a faculty or professional staff advisor. Academic advisors help students learn about core and major requirements, navigate class selection, prepare for graduation, understand university policies and procedures, and connect with campus resources.
Undergraduate students are required to meet with their advisor each semester to determine an appropriate program of study, plan a path to graduation, and select courses that fulfill degree requirements. Graduate students are assigned academic advisors and are encouraged to work with them throughout their programs of study.
As a student, you can make the most of your advising experience by working with your advisor. Through this partnership, you will become familiar with resources, services, and learning opportunities that can enhance your academic success.
