How do I make a roommate group?
Once you complete and submit your 2026-2027 housing application, follow these steps to create a roommate group:
- Log in to your eRez account through the Rockhurst Portal.
- On the left side of the screen, you should see an option called “Roommate Group.”
- Click on “Create a New Roommate Group.”
- Fill in “Group Names.”
- The roommate you select must also have an eRez account with their Rockhurst email to log in. You then type in their first and last name, and their Rockhurst email address should pop up.
- The roommate you entered will have to accept their invitation. You will know they have accepted when a green arrow pops up beside their name.
What happens if I don’t have a roommate group/completed roommate group?
If you are not planning to be in the housing lottery for THV or Rock Row, you do not need to have a roommate group. If you are aiming for the THV or Rock Row housing lottery and do not have a roommate group or a completed roommate group by the first housing lottery deadline, you will not be considered for the lottery. However, you can always try for the second housing lottery (3/3/26), but you still need a completed roommate group.
When does the housing application open?
The 2026-2027 housing application will open on January 12. An email will be sent to students when it opens, containing information about the housing lottery deadlines and roommate group details.
If I sign up for housing for next year, then decide to transfer, what do I need to do?
You will need to contact the Residence Life office to let us know you will no longer be attending Rockhurst University. If you are awarded a THV, Rock Row house, or room in Kateri, you will be subject to a $550 housing cancellation fee. If you choose to go from THV/Rock Row/Kateri to a residence hall room, you will be subject to a $325 housing cancellation fee. All of this information can be found in the 2026-2027 housing contract.
How many points do I need to get in Rock Row?
There is no minimum number of points to earn a Rock Row house with your roommate group. You need to be among the highest-scoring roommate groups to apply for the Rock Row housing lottery.
How are points scored for the housing lottery?
Points are scored for four areas of a student’s time at Rockhurst:
- GPA
- Credit hours completed at Rockhurst University
- Conduct
- Service hours
Conduct is scored based on the level of conduct severity:
- If you have not had any conduct issues in the last year, you are given 20 points.
- If you are on conduct probation, you are given 10 points.
- If you are on disciplinary probation, you are given 0 points.
All service hours must be completed while at Rockhurst University AND logged in Engage. Any hours logged in Engage after the housing lottery deadlines will not be included in the final housing lottery scores.
Do I need a meal plan?
Whether you need a meal plan depends on where you live on campus.
- If you live in McGee, Corcoran, or XL, you are required to have the minimum 235 block + $200 flex meal plan, but you can increase to the 300 block + $200 flex meal plan.
- If you live in THV, you are required to have the minimum 120 block + $450 flex meal plan, but you can always increase to the 235 block or 300 block meal plan.
- If you live in Kateri or Rock Row, you are not required to have a meal plan, but you can choose one if you want.
