Communication Sciences and Disorders Master's Program Freshman Direct Admit
Rockhurst University’s communication sciences and disorders undergraduate degree is a pre-professional speech-language pathology program that prepares students to serve children and adults with a broad range of communication disorders.
Incoming freshmen are eligible to apply for pre-admission to the Master of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders should they meet eligibility requirements.
CSD Direct Admit Eligibility Requirements
- Minimum 3.2 high school grade point average and 24 ACT (superscore eligible) or
- 3.8 (test optional)
Requirements for Maintaining Freshman Direct Admit Status
- Minimum 3.2 grade point average each semester and minimum 3.2 science and cumulative grade point average through the end of the senior year
- Meet once each semester with Communication Sciences and Disorders academic advisor
- Demonstrate an ability to fulfill Essential Functions
Communication Sciences and Disorders Graduate Scholars
Rockhurst undergraduate students with outstanding academic work may apply early to the Communication Sciences and Disorders graduate program.
CSD Graduate Scholars Eligibility Requirements
- Minimum 3.4 cumulative grade point average at the end of the junior year
- Minimum 3.4 major cumulative grade point average at the end of the junior year
- Submit the Communication Sciences and Disorders graduate application by the published deadline
- Meet once each semester with Communication Sciences and Disorders academic advisor or CHHS advisor
- Demonstrate ability to fulfill Essential Functions
Post-Bachelor's Leveling Program Admittance into CSD Master's Degree Program
A post-bachelor’s leveling program in communication sciences and disorders is also available, designed to give individuals who have already earned a bachelor’s degree in another discipline a path to earning a graduate degree in CSD. The leveling program allows admitted students to complete the necessary prerequisite courses to begin graduate studies in speech-language pathology. Students accepted into the leveling program are provisionally admitted to the Master of Science in CSD program.
