It’s here — Family and Alumni Weekend will be from Sept. 25-28 on campus, the annual opportunity for Hawks and Hawk families to come back to the nest to reconnect with both classmates and with campus.

A year after Rockhurst University cracked the top 10 on the list of Midwest Regional Universities by U.S. News and World Report, the institution is once again moving up – this time claiming the top spot in the state on that list, among other honors.

At a time when the average tenure of a university president is less than six years, the Rockhurst University Board of Trustees announces that it has extended the contract of President Sandra Cassady, Ph.D., an additional five years following an initial three-year period of growth and success for the University.

Summer enrollment at Rockhurst University once again broke the record — which was only established last year.

On this orientation weekend, Rockhurst University President Sandra Cassady, Ph.D., juggled welcoming the newest students to campus Friday with a luncheon honoring her and 24 other Kansas City area women, who were named to the 26th annual Women of Influence class by the Kansas City Business Journal.

Students will benefit from two new projects funded this summer by grants from the Jesuit Association of Student Personnel Administrators. Both the University’s Counseling Center and Aylward-Dunn Learning Center were awarded grants as part of JASPA’s Innovation Grant program to expand services for students.

Odin George Buser was born with a complex set of health issues as a result of unbalanced chromosome translocation that prevented him from doing a lot of the things children his age would normally do. But when he was given something like a toy that he could manipulate, he would beam with happiness, his mother Courtney said.

Rockhurst University’s College of Business and Technology will once again add to its graduate degree offerings in fall 2025 with the introduction of its Master of Science in Information Systems degree.
