Assistance for Persons with Disabilities
The library has a computer for the visually impaired. Patrons who need specialized equipment for word processing, internet access and other applications are encouraged to use this computer. The computer is located on the main level of the library. The library staff will be happy to assist people with disabilities in selection and gathering of library materials when needed. If you contact a librarian before you come to the library, we will try to have materials waiting for you. Contact the library for more information.
Borrowing Policies
Information pertaining to eligible borrowers of Greenlease Library materials. Clarification is provided for Rockhurst students, faculty,staff, alumni, and guests. MOBIUS patrons can check-out materials in person. Visitors to Rockhurst have limited access to the library collection.
Collection Development Policy
Information pertaining to the library's collection development policy as it relates to a mission, objectives, selection and selection criteria, gifts, library collection, format, weeding and intellectual freedom.
Donations to the Library Policy
Greenlease Library conditionally accepts gifts. The Library Director, or his or her appointee, is free to decline and/or dispose of gifts if they do not align with the mission of the library or duplicate materials already owned. All gifts are acknowledged by the library, but no appraised value is given. The library refers donors asking for appraisals to utilize third-parties as well as the instructions for IRS form 8283. Memorial gifts are encouraged by the library. The staff will work with donors to select materials appropriate for the library and person being commemorated.
Government Documents Collection Development Policy
This library is a congressionally designated depository for U.S. Government documents. Public access to the government documents collection is guaranteed by public law. (Title 44 United States Code) The United States government established the Government Printing Office (GPO) Depository Program in 1895. Rockhurst Greenlease Library was designated a senatorial class depository library in 1917. US Government Printing Office FDsys - GPO's Federal Digital System (FDsys) provides public access to Government information submitted by Congress and Federal agencies and preserved as technology changes.
