We have some exciting changes coming up for the 2023-2024 school year for those students that enroll in the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP). With these changes to the benefits and premium, the SHIP plan will move from BlueKC to Aetna. We have worked to find a more affordable plan with more abundant benefits.

Exceptions include full-time graduate students in the MBA, Data Analytics and Organizational Leadership program, accelerated option, Executive MBA, DO/MBA, MBA/PHY, AA/AS, RN to BSN, MSN, M.Ed., Ed.D and post-baccalaureate student who all may voluntarily enroll in this program. ABSN, Medical Assisting, DEI graduate certificate, and Paralegal certificate are also exempt from hard waiver. Part-time students are also eligible to enroll in coverage voluntarily if taking a minimum of 4 credit hours per term. Dependents of full-time students only may also be eligible for enrollment in the plan. Students must actively attend classes and remain enrolled with Rockhurst for the first 31 days of each term to be eligible for coverage.

I heard that full-time undergraduate and graduate students are required to have the student health insurance offered via Rockhurst. Is that true?
The University negotiated a comprehensive and affordable student health insurance plan for Rockhurst students with Relation Insurance. Given the benefits offered for the cost, this is a great way to address health care costs for injuries and sickness as well as to help pay for care during periods of medical crisis.
