Rockhurst University’s Office of University Marketing and Communications (UMC) seeks to enhance RU’s visibility and image through effective media relations, advertising, publications, community relations and a compelling online presence.

How to Work With UMC

UMC operates much like an on-campus communications agency. We are eager to partner with you to determine strategy, write copy, design and produce your projects.

A few tips to keep in mind before starting a job:

  • With hundreds of jobs working at any given time, we require a turnaround time of six weeks for all projects other than web jobs. Exceptions can be made but must be approved by the director of marketing or director of public relations.
  • All vital information pertaining to your project must be included when opening the job or it is not assigned or considered officially open.


The UMC team utilizes an online request and project management system called Wrike. This allows us to better track jobs and communicate with campus partners, like you. To open a new job request or view existing tickets once they’ve been opened, you’ll first login to Wrike.
