Rockhurst University Earns Extended Accreditation from AACSB

Rockhurst University’s College of Business and Technology has earned extended accreditation from the AACSB International, one of the most widely recognized and prestigious accreditations for schools of business worldwide.
Rockhurst was one of 25 institutions whose accreditation was extended by AACSB in an announcement today. To earn this extended accreditation, institutions undertake a self-evaluation report that is submitted as part of an eligibility application. A peer team then undertakes a site visit.
“The application process is detailed and rigorous,” said Myles Gartland, Ph.D., dean of the College of Business and Technology. “I want to thank our faculty and staff who put together our application and coordinated the peer visit team. This was a huge effort, but the result reinforces the value and quality that a Jesuit business education promises.”
Rockhurst University is the only private institution in the Kansas City area whose business school holds AACSB accreditation. Only 6% of business schools worldwide hold AACSB accreditation.
“From research contributions to their field to their commitment to students, our College of Business and Technology faculty shine,” said Sandra Cassady, Ph.D., Rockhurst University president. “Our programs, developed in partnership with some of the Kansas City area’s largest employers, are designed to prepare students for tomorrow’s careers with a foundation of the Jesuit values and mission. It makes for a potent combination that sets us apart and emphasizes continual improvement and innovation. Recognition by the AACSB reflects our commitment to those goals.”
Established in 1916, AACSB International (AACSB) is the world’s largest business education association, connecting educators, learners, and businesses to create the next generation of great leaders. With members in over 100 countries and territories, AACSB elevates the quality and impact of business schools globally.
