Student Testimonials
"It's atypical to find a science department as dedicated to its students' success as Rockhurst's chemistry department. Each professor strives to make each lesson pragmatic and applicable along with being routinely available for extra help outside of class. Working in water treatment, I run into concepts every day that I learned in my chemistry classes and without that great platform, I know that I wouldn't be where I am today."
- Jonathan Zinser, Class of 2016
Technical specialist for Rochester Midland Corp., Kansas City, MO
“Rockhurst University truly prepared me, in all aspects, for success on my road to becoming a compassionate, confident, and well-rounded physician. As a graduate with a degree in Biochemistry, the faculty of the Chemistry Department played a crucial role in this. Every professor went above and beyond to not only teach the curriculum, but help students develop professionally through research and networking opportunities. Not a day passed when I could not show up unannounced at a professor’s door and seek out advice about class, careers, or life in general. The support the Chemistry Faculty provided throughout my undergraduate career and beyond has helped me get to where I am today. For this, I cannot thank them enough..”
- Melanie Sowadski, Class of 2013
Fourth Year Medical Student, Saint Louis University School of Medicine Class of 2017
