State Street - Mutual Funds Income Team Intern

It has been close to two months since I started my internship at State Street Corporation with the Mutual Funds Income Team. During the past month, I have been able to learn some new Excel skills from my manager and mentors. I have also learned how to send formal emails to clients. I am very happy I made the decision to return to the Income Team because it has given me the opportunity to be able to learn more about the culture of the team. It has also helped me to see that different teams at State Street work differently and have different systems and cultures.

I do like the fact that my team considers my input on various projects and tasks assigned to me. This makes me feel like I am part of the team; which is a great feeling when working in a team. Today at work, one of my managers told me that she had updated one of the procedures of a task assigned to me. Due to the change she had to train me so that I could understand the changes she made. The training was a success, I was able to understand the new changes made. After the training I gave her my feedback on the new procedure, she listened to my feedback and responded to some of the questions I had regarding the change.

Working at State Street Corporation for the past two years as an intern has given me the opportunity to broaden my knowledge about financial Industries. Through this internship, I have been able to build and grow my network among other professionals. I am very happy I was given the opportunity to work for such an amazing corporation.
