Accounts and Security
- Campus Portal –Online student portal where students can access their grades, course schedule, Canvas, tuition bills, and virtually everything they need as a student. Also known as Rockweb or MyRockhurst. (my.rockhurst.edu)
- KnowBe4 – Required annual cybersecurity training
- Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) – A security method requiring more than just a password such as e-mail code, text code or authenticator app code.
- Phishing – Fraudulent emails trying to steal your login or data.
- Single Sign-On (SSO) – Your campus login; used to access email, the portal, Canvas, etc.
Campus Technology and Tools
- Ad Astra – Classroom and Room Scheduling
- Banner – Primary student information system
- Canvas – Rockhurst’s Learning Management System (LMS) for coursework, grades, and assignments.
- Microsoft 365 (Office 365) – Email, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, Teams, etc.
- OneDrive – Cloud storage service for saving and sharing schoolwork.
- PapercutMF – Manages your printing quota or balance and ability to print to any printer on campus using one print queue and swiping your card to release it.
- Rockspace – Rockhurst University’s student engagement platform. This is where you can join organizations, vote in student elections, take surveys, and discover upcoming events on campus. You can access this from your RU Portal.
- Spectrum U – To watch cable TV. Access link through the portal.
- Zoom – Video conferencing tool used for virtual classes or meetings.
Networking and Devices
- Device Registration/Network Access Control – A process to register your laptop, phone, or tablet for access to campus Wi-Fi using the service ticket system.
- RUWireless – Rockhurst's campus Wi-Fi network. (Once connected, open a browser and try to go to neverssl.com, and it should redirect you to the Rockhurst wi-fi login page.
Help and Support
- Help Desk / IT Support Portal – Where you submit tickets for technical support (e.g., Freshservice). (help.rockhurst.edu)
- Knowledge Base – Online library of help articles for solving common tech issues. (help.rockhurst.edu)
- Self-Service Portal – Platform where students manage their IT needs, like password resets, issue tracking, or software requests. (help.rockhurst.edu)
- Ticketing System – Used to track IT help requests. (help.rockhurst.edu)
Academic Technology
- Airtame – Wireless screen sharing in the classrooms.
- ATI Testing – Exams for the Nursing Program
- Lecture Capture/Mediasite/Zoom Recording – Tools to record and access class sessions.
- Respondus/LockDown Browser – Used to secure online exams.
- Smart Classroom/AV Systems – Classrooms equipped with projectors, microphones, and hybrid learning tools.
Additional Useful Terms
- Cloud Storage – Data stored online (like Google Drive, OneDrive).
- Collaboration Tools – Teams, SharePoint, or Google Workspace equivalents.
- Software Licenses(e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) – Licensed software available through the university.
