Program Description
Rockhurst's paralegal studies certificate began in 1974 as one of the first of its kind in the U.S. It prepares students for the growing field of paralegals and legal assistants. This flexible program can be completed in a year and only requires 18 credit hours for completion. Courses are taught by practicing attorneys and judges with professional expertise in specialized areas of law. Most courses are offered at night in order to accommodate those students who may work a full-time job. The paralegal program is also great preparation for students interested in attending law school and receiving paralegal certification. The mission of the paralegal program is to prepare students to become effective, professional, ethical, and productive members of the legal community.
