Article I: Title
The name of the organization shall be the Rockhurst College French Club.
Article II: Purpose and Objective
Section A: To bring students who are interested in French together to discuss common interest
Section B: To promote the visibility of French students in the Rockhurst community and other communities by official as a group. Being recognized as a club, the members will be able to sponsor activities and meetings and be represented at those activities and meetings sponsored by other groups.
Article III: Membership Qualification
Section A: Membership is open to all Rockhurst College students, faculty, and staff who are interested in French.
Section B: The Rockhurst College French Club subscribes to the nondiscriminatory policy of Rockhurst College. Rockhurst College admits students of any race, color, sex, creed, national and ethnic origin to all rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, creed, national or ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, athletic and other school programs.
Article IV: Officers
Section A: Officers shall be president, vice-president and secretary.
Section B: The duties of the president shall be to preside over all meetings, to provide leadership at all club functions and manage all of the club's funds.
The duties of the vice-president shall be to preside over all meetings in the absence of the President and to perform other such duties as delegated by the President.
The duties of the secretary shall be to act as correspondent for the Rockhurst College French Club.
Article V: Executive Board
The Executive Board shall consist of all officers and the moderator. The Board will be responsible for setting policy and or policies for the organization. The president will act as chairperson of the Executive Board and reserves the right to call its meetings.
Article VI: Meetings
Section A: The Rockhurst College French Club will meet once a month at a regularly scheduled meeting.
Section B: Social meetings will be called when deemed necessary by the President.
Article VII: Committees
Committees shall be appointed by the President as the need arises.
Article VIII: Elections and Terms of Office
Section A: Election of the officers shall be held annually. A term of office is from September 1 of that year to August 31 of the following year.
Section B: A quorum will be established and officers will be elected by a simple majority of that quorum. A quorum must be present in order to hold elections.
