The exhibition brings together the mathematical art and personal reflections of 12 women at Chillicothe Correctional Center. Created through Rockhurst University’s Companions in Chillicothe program in a course taught by mathematics professor Zdeňka Guadarrama, Ph.D., the works explore identity, compassion, connection, and the beauty within.
Through a mathematical structure in the form of tessellations, geometric sculptures, and collaborative installations, the artists transform mathematical ideas into expressions of their individual experiences and shared humanity. Their accompanying words invite visitors to consider the people, stories, and creative possibilities that exist beyond prison walls.

Please join us to explore the artwork, celebrate the voices of our Rockhurst companions, and experience the connections that mathematics and art can make possible.
