Song for the Muses is an interdisciplinary exhibition by Sierra Faust and Benjamin Havey, inspired by Hesiod’s Theogony, an early account of the Greek gods’ origins. Using the text as a structural and conceptual guide, Faust’s meditative drawings and Havey’s intertextual musical compositions explore creation within constraint. Echoing Hesiod’s invocation to the muses, the exhibition challenges the myth of the autonomous artist, presenting art-making as historical, relational, and guided by forces beyond the self. The exhibit will be on display through Dec. 7 during regular gallery hours, 1-5 p.m. Thursday through Sunday. A closing reception is scheduled for 6-8 p.m. on Dec. 4.
