Biography 

Steve Brown, Ph.D., is a professor of psychology and has been a faculty member in the department since 1988.

Brown's primary research interest involves measuring and promoting his students' abilities to critically evaluate psychological research findings and information presented in popular publications. Additional scholarly interests include developing course-embedded assessment activities to evaluate student learning and investigating the effectiveness of instructional technology on student performance in the classroom.

At Rockhurst University, Brown served as chair of the Department of Psychology from 1995 to 2002 and has been an active member of the Committee on Rockhurst Assessment since its founding in 1996. He has been voted Faculty of the Year by Rockhurst students and has received the Brenner Award for Scholarly Achievement, which recognizes exemplary scholarly activity among Rockhurst faculty.
