Message from the Chief of Safety and Security
As Chief of the Department of Safety and Security, it is my honor to present Rockhurst University’s Annual Clery Act Security Report (ASR) for 2026.
This report reflects Rockhurst University’s ongoing commitment to the safety, security, and well-being of our entire campus community. Our dedication to Service, Integrity, Inclusion, Professionalism, Respect, and Accountability guides the work we do each day and is closely aligned with the University’s Mission and Core Values.
The Annual Clery Act Security Report is an important part of our commitment to transparency and accountability. It provides current and prospective students, faculty, and staff with information about campus safety policies, programs, resources, and the nature and frequency of reported crimes occurring within Clery-reportable areas. By making this information readily available, we help members of the Rockhurst community make informed decisions and take an active role in their own safety and the safety of others.
We recognize that a safe and secure campus is built through partnership. Our approach to safety is proactive and grounded in the principle of Cura Personalis—care and concern for the whole person. Maintaining a safe campus requires ongoing communication, awareness, and cooperation among students, faculty, staff, visitors, and the Department of Safety and Security. The strong relationships and open dialogue that exist across our campus are essential to that effort.
I encourage every member of the Rockhurst community to review this report, become familiar with the resources and services available, and understand the role each of us plays in maintaining a safe and welcoming campus environment. Safety and security are not the responsibility of one department alone; they are a shared responsibility. Every individual's awareness, preparedness, and willingness to speak up can make a meaningful difference.
