Students who participate in the Emerging Leader Academy will have experiences catered to students who wish to further develop their current leadership skills and become leaders on campus. These experiences include, but are not limited to:
- Personal Leadership Style Inventory and Workshop
- Leadership in a Jesuit Tradition Workshop
- Monthly gatherings with academy participants and current student leaders
- Leadership coaching to assist in applying for campus leadership positions
- Information about the leadership minor and the nonprofit leadership major and/or minor
- Finucane Service Project
- Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service
- Reality Check Day of Service
- Missouri River Relief
- Joplin Tornado Relief
- Service Trips (Fall Break, Winter Break, Spring Break, Lumberjack Retreat)
- Service Saturday—one Saturday a month, sign up and show up service project
- Safe Trick or Treat—Halloween event at Community Center for neighborhood
- Leftovers with Love-- weekly food preparation and delivery to St. James Place.
- Service Transcript Program—record of service
- Service Reflection Sessions—opportunities to reflect on the service performed
- Finucane Service Scholarship—for incoming freshman; can be renewed
- Miller Family Service Scholarship—students dedicated to service “volunteer for tuition”

Area 1: Be. (Select at least 1)
- 6 pm Sunday Student Mass
- IMPACT
- Holy Hour – Tuesdays at 3:30 pm
- Meet with a campus minister to find a local faith community in your tradition in which you can regularly worship.

Area 2: Connect. (Select at least 1)
- Attend Campus Ministry's Beginning of the Year Game Night
- Participate in Frosh Get-A-Way
- Join a Christian Life Community (CLC)
- Participate in Silent Retreat
- Participate in Retreat on the Rock
- Attend Mass of the Holy Spirit

Area 3: Grow (Select at least 2. Many of the Visiting Scholar Lectures are options in this area.)
- Attend SEEK/Interfaith Event (9-11 Prayer Service, Holocaust Remembrance Day, etc.)
- Join an InterVarsity Christian Fellowship Bible Study
- Attend Catholic Cafe
- Participate in Rockhurst Respect Life
- Participate in VOICES for Justice
- Attend the Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice (November in Washington, DC)
- Attend the National March for Life (January in Washington, DC)
- Attend Musica Sacra
- Participate in SuperNatural Retreat (Application Process/every other year)

Area 4: Serve (Select at least 2. Most of the options are listed in the Service Academy. Service Learning is another option.)
- Serve a meal at One City Cafe
- Volunteer to assist with St. Francis Xavier's Youth Group (also included in Service Academy)
- Assist with St. Francis Xavier's Children's Liturgy of the Word (also included in Service Academy)
- Volunteer with St. Francis Xavier's Food Bank (also included in Service Academy)
- Bishop Sullivan Service Internship (Summer Application Process) (also included in Service Academy)
- Serve as a liturgical minister (altar server, lector, EMOHC)
- Share your musical talent by joining Joyful Noise, serving as a cantor, playing an instrument at 6 pm Mass
- Assist with coordinating SEEK
- Lead a Christian Life Community (CLC) (Application Process)
- Lead Retreat on the Rock (Application Process)
- Work in the Campus Ministry Offices through the Federal Work Study Program (Application Process)
- Participate in the Lumberjack Service Retreat (Application Process/every other year)
- Participate in the Missouri River Relief service project
- Participate in a service-immersion trip (Application Process)

- Meet with assigned Campus Ministry staff member companion (once per semester)
- Write a core value reflection
Connect
Academic
- Meet with success coach and develop a success plan
- Attend the Success Academy
- Utilize a tutor or supplemental instruction session a minimum of 2x a month
- Choose one Career Services Opportunity
- Connect with a professor or academic advisor and visit for a minimum of 30 minutes: ask questions regarding your major/ minor, ask for learning tips, or get to know the professor and why he/she chose their field, etc.
- Attend Visiting Scholar Lecture Series
- Take the career development course
- Begin your career account
- Go to a career services event or meet with a career advisor
- Choose three student life activities from the list below:
