One of the best ways to get a good feel for a college is to visit it! Most colleges have official visiting guidelines and set up tours for prospective students, so be sure to find the correct resources for your school of choice. But it can be confusing about what to do while you’re there, so we’re here to give you some guidance!
Take a Visit or Tour
As we mentioned earlier, most colleges have official visits for you to make an appointment to see everything and we wholeheartedly recommend taking the provided campus tour as part of the experience. This is a great chance to hear from a student about their experiences and what they do around campus. Be sure to ask questions about the degree program and any clubs they’re a part of if you’re interested in them too! Come prepared with other questions you have too, as they’ll be a better resource than almost anyone else you’ll come across.

Explore the Surrounding Area
Coming to college and living on campus has its perks, and one of those can be everything around your campus. Whether it’s a great coffee shop within walking distance or great shopping areas that are a short drive away, you’ll want to know what’s nearby if you decide to enroll. Some colleges, like Rockhurst, are in the heart of a major city and have a ton of great activities to do around the city that you should explore while you’re there to visit.
Visit Offices
Sometimes it can be hard to get ahold of different offices on campus for whatever reason you need them, but when you visit, it can be a great time to set up one-on-one appointments to get all your questions answered. Financial Aid, Admissions, Housing, and more will all be more than happy to talk to you about what you need to get ready for your time there. You’ll be sure to walk away with much more information than if you traded emails back and forth.
