Young Alumni Council Service & Recruitment Social

Join us for a summer Young Alumni Council Service and Recruitment Social! This event is a great chance to meet fellow young alumni and learn more about joining our Young Alumni Council.

We will be taking a tour and conducting a service activity at Wayside Waifs, one of Kansas City's no-kill animal shelters. Alumna Amanda Smasal, '18 MA, Special Events Manager, will speak about her role at Wayside and her experience at Rockhurst. Afterwards, we'll gather for a happy hour at Transparent Brewing Co. a new microbrewery in the area. Enjoy heavy appetizers from the adjacent Chive Café! If you can only make the service portion or happy hour portion, we would be glad to have you.

The Young Alumni Council (YAC) exists to actively engage young alumni in Kansas City with Rockhurst University through social events, professional development, and community service opportunities. Council sponsored annual events include Santa at the Rock, Meet the Makers/Young Alumni Council Speaker Series, and the Young Alumni Reunion during Family & Alumni Weekend. YAC members have graduated from RU within the past ten years.
