Women’s Basketball: Hawks suffer loss to Ottawa
Ottawa held Rockhurst to 33.3 percent shooting in posting a 77-64 victory over the Hawks Saturday night at RU’s Mason-Halpin Field House. Amber Ramsey led the Ottawa attack with 25 points and 10 rebounds. She hit all 12 of her free throw attempts.
The Lady Braves scored their last 13 points from the free throw line. A three-point play gave Ottawa a 65-58 lead with 3:42 left in the game. Rockhurst was limited to six points in the final four and a half minutes.
Junior forward Allison Streich led the Hawks with 16 points, 10 rebounds and three blocked shots. Freshman Lauren Meyers added 12 points. Kendall Hart and Taylor Skala each posted three steals. Rockhurst outrebounded Ottawa, 41-39.
Rockhurst, 2-5, is now off until Jan. 3 when the Hawks host Saint Joseph’s in their conference opener.
