Hawks at Home Get Chance to Cheer at Campus Watch Parties
Though the Rockhurst University men’s soccer team will be nearly 1,000 miles away playing the semifinal game of the NCAA Division II men’s soccer tournament in Evans, Ga., there will be plenty of ways to cheer them on here at home.
Watch parties sponsored by the Student Athletic Advisory Council are scheduled at two different sites on campus for students, faculty and staff to watch the Hawks take on the No. 1-ranked Southern New Hampshire University Penmen at 4 p.m. CDT, Thursday, Dec. 5. It will be the Hawks’ first Final Four appearance since joining the NCAA in 1998.
Screens with a live stream of the game will be set up in the Massman Gallery and in the Rock Room in Massman Hall, with cake and ice cream and snack foods for those attending.
If the Hawks win Thursday, a watch party for the final game will be scheduled for 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 7, in the Convocation Center, with refreshments.
Alumni are also invited to a watch party for the semifinal game that begins at 4 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 5, at Mike’s Tavern, 5424 Troost Ave.
The game is also available for free streaming at www.rockhursthawks.com and www.ncaa.com.
