Men’s Soccer: Magee, Bass earn All-America honors
Rockhurst junior goalkeeper Ryan Bass and junior forward Mark Magee have been named to the 2012 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Division II Men’s Soccer All-America Team. Bass was a second team selection for the second year in a row, while Magee earned second team honors after being a first team selection in 2011.
The Hawks, 18-3-2, finished eighth in the final NSCAA Division II men's soccer poll. Magee led the GLVC in goals (15) and points (39). He ranks 10th in points and tied for 11th in goals in NCAA Division II. In 43 career games, Magee has recorded 29 goals and 79 points. Bass ranks 12th in Division II with a 0.73 goals against average.
Magee and Bass also were selected to the Daktronics, Inc. NCAA Division II Men’s Soccer All-America Team. Magee was a second team selection for the second year in a row, while Bass earned third team honors after being a first team selection in 2011. Dan Frohock, a senior defender for the Hawks, received honorable mention accolades on the Daktronics All-America team.
Sports information directors from NCAA Division II schools and conferences sponsoring men’s soccer selected the Daktronics All-America teams. The process begins at the regional level with all First Team All-Region picks advancing to the national ballot. This is the seventh year Daktronics has sponsored the NCAA Division II men’s soccer All-America and All-Region teams.
