Multimedia Installation Opens at Greenlease Gallery Nov. 14
On Friday, Nov. 14, Gilded Splinters (devices I), a new exhibit of work by Academy Records, will open to the public in the Greenlease Gallery on the Rockhurst University campus.
Presenting a multimedia installation of film, drawing, and sound, Academy Records’ exhibition represents “the residual qualities of life lost and relationships abruptly ended.” Stephen Lacy will discuss Academy Records’ presentation at 6:30 p.m. and a reception will follow from 7-9 p.m.
Academy Records is a platform for interdisciplinary exhibitions, recorded events and printed ephemera based in Providence, Rhode Island, and Chicago. Led by artist Stephen Lacy for more than a decade, Academy Records’ projects have been reviewed in a variety of well-known publications, including Art Forum, New York Times, The New Art Examiner and Wire Magazine. Academy Records have presented solo and group shows at numerous venues throughout the United States and Europe. Most recently, Academy Records’ multimedia project The Spectre was included in the 2014 Whitney Biennial.
Gilded Splinters (devices I) will be on display through Saturday, Dec. 6. Email Gallery Director for more information. Parking is free in campus lots.
