Volleyball: Hawks fall to Indianapolis in NCAA tourney

Rockhurst suffered a 3-0 loss to No. 19 Indianapolis in the first round of the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Thursday in Indianapolis. The top-seeded Greyhounds won by the scores of 25-14, 25-19 and 25-19.
Indianapolis limited the Hawks to a season-low .057 hitting percentage with 29 kills and 22 errors. Rockhurst, 28-7, was led by freshmen Katie Loescher and Alyssa Arnold with eight kills each. Freshman setter Whitney Kostal paced the Hawks with 26 assists and nine digs.
Kristina Kerrigan led Indianapolis, 28-7, with 13 kills. The Greyhounds advance to the Midwest Regional semifinals to play the winner between Lewis and Ferris State on Friday.
