Women’s Basketball: Hawks down Saint Mary
Freshman guard Lauren Meyers posted 11 points, six rebounds and four assists to lead Rockhurst to an 82-49 victory over Saint Mary Monday night at RU’s Mason-Halpin Field House. Meyers scored nine of her points in the last four minutes.
The Hawks jumped out to a 15-2 lead in the first six minutes and went into halftime leading 40-25. Rockhurst connected on half of its 32 field goal attempts in the first half.
Allison Streich finished with 10 points and five rebounds. MaKayla Grahn, Becca Strobbe and Melanie Siscos added nine points apiece. Becky Squiers collected a team-high seven rebounds. The Hawks shot 47.5 percent from the field and 66.7 from the foul line.
Rockhurst, 2-2, will play at Truman State on Wednesday and at Missouri Western on Saturday.
