NCAA Women’s Soccer: Rockhurst suffers loss in NCAA Regionals

Rockhurst suffered a 3-1 loss to third-ranked Grand Valley State in the second round of the NCAA Division II Women’s Soccer Midwest Regional Sunday in Allendale, Mich.
Freshman midfielder Julia Bartolacci scored her second goal of the season in the 55th minute to give Rockhurst a 1-0 lead. Grand Valley scored two goals a minute apart to take a 2-1 lead in the 62nd minute and added another goal with four minutes left.
Taylor Skala led Rockhurst with three shots. Lucy Sullivan made four saves in goal for the Hawks, who finish the season with a 14-4-3 record. Grand Valley State, 19-1-2, advances to the NCAA Midwest Regional title game.
