Women’s Soccer: Rockhurst meets Quincy in GLVC Tournament

The Rockhurst Hawks face a rematch with top-seeded Quincy in the semifinals of the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women’s Soccer Tournament at 5 p.m. Friday in Quincy, Ill.

Second-seeded William Jewell meets third-seeded Bellarmine at 7:30 p.m. in the second semifinal match. The GLVC championship match is set for noon Sunday at Quincy.

The fifth-seeded Hawks (13-2-3) advanced to the semifinals by defeating fourth-seeded Wisconsin-Parkside, 3-2, last Sunday at Parkside. Sophomore midfielder Nicky Alfonsin (Overland Park, Kan./St. Thomas Aquinas HS) scored two goals in the Hawks’ victory.

Rockhurst defeated Quincy, 2-0, earlier this season in Kansas City. Quincy leads the all-time series with Rockhurst, 9-6-3.
