Humane Society to Debut at Rockhurst Plays-in-Progress Workshop
The original comedy Humane Society, by Patrick Kirkland, will receive its first public reading at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26, in Sedgwick Hall 115, as part of the Rockhurst University Plays-In-Progress Workshop series.
Humane Society is directed by Ericka Cherry and performed by Rockhurst students. The play is a raucous comedy about an older, love-struck veterinarian, his larcenous young female assistant, her ethically challenged boyfriend and the naïve local sheriff.
A discussion with the playwright and a reception follow the performance. The event is open to the public and free of charge. Donations will be accepted at the door. Sedgwick Hall is located on the Rockhurst University campus, 54th Street and Troost Avenue. For more information call (816) 501-4607.
