Hawks name Koehler Assistant Director of Athletics

Mike Koehler has been named the Assistant Director of Athletics at Rockhurst University. Koehler spent the past three years at Rockhurst as an assistant to the athletic director while working on his Master of Business Administration at Rockhurst. He assisted in the day-to-day administration including compliance, budgetary and facilities issues. He also has assisted in game-day management.

"Mike has been a valuable member of our athletics staff for the past three years," said Rockhurst director of athletics Gary Burns. "He has played several
key roles for us, particularly in the area of compliance and game-day management."

In addition to receiving his MBA from Rockhurst in 2012, Koehler earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Kansas in 1996 and a Master of Civil Engineering from the University of Kansas in 2003. He spent 12 years as a structural engineer for two Kansas City-area firms.

A native of Kansas City, Mo., Koehler is a graduate of Rockhurst High School.
