Barnett C. Helzberg Jr. Discusses Mentoring Successes
Former President and CEO of Helzberg Diamonds Barnett C. Helzberg Jr. will discuss his new book, Entrepreneurs + Mentors = Success, which profiles 22 case studies of entrepreneurial mentoring success, at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, in the Greenlease Library.
Seventeen years ago, Helzberg acted on an idea to match established entrepreneurial companies with experienced business mentors. The result was the Helzberg Entrepreneurial Mentoring Program, a program that helped scores of businesses improve their performance.
Helzberg is also the author of I Am Loved, and What I Learned Before I Sold to Warren Buffett. The Helzberg School of Management at Rockhurst University is named for Helzberg and his wife, Shirley. He teaches courses in the Helzberg School on entrepreneurship.
Admission to this event is free, however an RSVP is requested to helzbergschool@rockhurst.edu. The Greenlease Library is located on the Rockhurst University campus, 54th Street and Troost Avenue. A book signing and an opportunity to meet some of the Helzberg Entrepreneurial Mentoring Program members profiled in the book will follow the discussion. This event is sponsored by the Helzberg School of Management, the Helzberg Entrepreneurial Mentoring Program and Kansas City Star Books.
