Rockhurst hosts Wisconsin-Parkside in its home opener Friday night at 7:30. The Hawks, 3-0-1, have won five of their last six meetings against UW-Parkside. Rockhurst leads the all-time series by a 9-7-1 margin. The Hawks shut out the Rangers, 1-0, last year at Parkside. UW-Parkside, 2-1-1, opened conference play at home last weekend with a 2-1 win over Missouri S&T and a 2-0 loss to Drury. The game can be followed on Link \u002D LIVE STATS.

NATIONAL RANKINGS: Rockhurst moved up to 10th in this week’s NSCAA Division II national rankings after falling to No. 15 last week. The Hawks are ranked first in the NSCAA Midwest regional poll. The GLVC has four of the top 10 teams in the region. UW-Parkside is ranked No. 10 in the Midwest.

NON-LOSING STREAK: Rockhurst is closing on a school record dating back to the Ronald Reagan administration. The Hawks have won or tied their last 21 games dating back to last season. Rockhurst finished the 2011 season with a 14-0-3 record and have started out the 2012 season with a 3-0-1 record. The school record for consecutive games without a loss is 24, accomplished during the 1981 and ’82 seasons.

GLVC LEADERS: The Hawks are tied for first place in the Great Lakes Valley Conference with a 2-0 record. Rockhurst rallied for a 3-2 win at Indianapolis on Sunday. Junior forward Mark Magee scored the winning goal in the 82nd minute. Magee also scored the first goal and assisted on the second goal. The Hawks outshot Indianapolis, 13-11. Magee led the Hawks with six shots. Junior goalkeeper Ryan Bass collected five saves. The Hawks won their GLVC opener at Saint Joseph’s, 4-0, last Friday. Magee, Nick McDonald, Paolo Scoppola and Sean Verbanic scored RU’s goals. Bass collected his second shutout of the season while making six saves.

COACH TONY TOCCO: Rockhurst head coach Tony Tocco enters his 42nd season at Rockhurst as the one of the winningest men’s coaches of all-time in college soccer. He currently ranks third in career victories (603) and 28th in all-time winning percentage (.762) among men’s coaches. He is four wins behind former Wheaton coach Joe Bean for second place on the career victory list. Tocco stands first in wins and second in winning percentage among active NCAA Division II men’s coaches. Ohio Wesleyan’s Jay Martin is the career leader with 611 wins.

NCAA STATISTICS: The Hawks rank in the top 25 nationally among Division II schools in total points (33), assists (11), shutout percentage (0.50) and save percentage (.864). Mark Magee is tied for 13th in total points (9). Senior midfielder Ruben Perez is fifth in the nation in assists (4), while Ryan Bass stands 22nd in saves (19) and save percentage (.864).
