Women’s Golf: Rockhurst wins team title at William Jewell Fall Tuneup
Senior Emily Gonderinger broke a school record with a final round score of 73 to lead Rockhurst to a first place team finish at the William Jewell College Fall Tuneup Friday at the Cardinal Hill Golf Course in Liberty, Mo.
The Hawks won the team title with a two-round score of 635. After opening with a 325 team score on Thursday, Rockhurst set a new school record with a 310 team total in the final round, breaking the old school record by eight strokes.
Gonderinger shot the low round of the day to capture medalist honors by two strokes with a 36-hole total of 154. Her 73 score was two shots better than the previous school record held by Carmen Titus and Briana Bondon.
Rockhurst’s Bondon tied for second with a 156 total after shooting a 76 in the final round. Casey O’Flaherty tied for fourth at 158 (78-80). Natalie Wieckert finished 13th with a 167 (86-81).
The Hawks will play in the Drury Lady Panther Fall Shootout beginning on Monday at Silo Creek Country Club in Bolivar, Mo.
