AICPA's 125th anniversary
In celebration of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ 125th anniversary, the organization has released a list of the 125 most influential people in accounting throughout the past 125 years.
Among them is James Castellano, a 1973 graduate and current chairman of the Rockhurst University Board of Trustees. For the last 39 years, Castellano has been with RubinBrown LLP, where he has served as chairman since 1989.
In 2002, he became the chair of the AICPA’s board of directors, where he represented its more than 330,000 members. As chair, Castellano testified before the House Subcommittee on Commerce, Trade and Consumer Protection, as well as the Senate Banking Committee and traveled across the country discussing the 2001 Enron scandal, pushing for legislative reform.
