Rockhurst University Appoints New Vice President for Advancement
Rockhurst University has named Bob Grant vice president for advancement effective May 9, 2011. Before coming to Rockhurst, Grant was director of controlling and planning at Bayer HealthCare – Animal Health. Prior to that, he was senior vice president for business growth at the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce.
This experience, and his familiarity with the Kansas City community, will be a great asset to the university, according to the Rev. Thomas B. Curran, O.S.F.S., president of Rockhurst University.
“I am excited about Bob becoming part of our university leadership team,” he said. “His experience, enthusiasm and skill set will assist us significantly in our efforts to strengthen our university and our community.”
Grant is an alumnus of The Pennsylvania State University, where he earned a bachelor of science in accounting. He is president of the board of directors for the Jewish Community Center of Greater Kansas City and is a former director for the Minority Supplier Council of Greater Kansas City.
The vice president for advancement serves as a member of the university’s senior leadership team with oversight for all aspects of fundraising and alumni relations.
