Rockhurst Again Named to Community Service Honor Roll
For the fourth year in a row, Rockhurst University has been named to the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll.
The President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll, which began in 2006, recognizes schools based on several factors, including the innovative quality and effectiveness of service projects, the number of participants involved in service endeavors and the amount of service-learning courses offered to students.
In all, 641 schools were honored for their community service activities. Including Rockhurst, 22 Jesuit colleges and universities were named to the 2010 Honor Roll. Jesuit education emphasizes discovering and using one’s gifts and talents to serve others.
The Corporation for National and Community Service, along with the U.S. Departments of Education and Housing and Urban Development, sponsor the honor roll program.
