Religious Scholar Speaks on Islamophobia
One of nation’s leading commentators on Islamic trends will speak at the Rockhurst University Visiting Lecture Series. Reza Aslan, Ph.D., will present “Ten Years Later: Islamophobia and Understanding Muslims,” at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 21, in the Convocation Center.
Aslan is a celebrated author, religious scholar and associate professor at the University of California—Riverside. His presentation examines Islam’s place in a multicultural society, as well as the persistence of anti-Islamic trends in the U.S. Aslan is the author of the international bestseller, “No god but God: The Origins, Evolution, and Future of Islam.” He’s also a regular guest on CNN, ABC News, Nightline, The Daily Show, Real Time with Bill Maher and CBS News.
Aslan’s lecture is presented as the annual Rev. William L. Rossner, S.J., Lecture in Theology. This event is free and open to the public.
