Helzberg School of Management to Offer First Online Degree Program, Master of Science in Business Intelligence and Analytics
Since launching in 2015, the Helzberg School of Management’s Master of Science in Business Intelligence and Analytics has earned a solid reputation among students interested in the growing fields of data analytics and insights.
But for every student enrolled in the program, there’s potentially another qualified candidate reluctant to enroll because of work requirements, distance, or family commitments.
This summer, the Helzberg School launches the online counterpart of its Master of Science in Business Intelligence and Analytics degree, the first such online master’s degree in the school’s catalog. The newest offering is aimed at giving students more choices in how they complete their program — on campus, online, or a combination of both.
“Demand is the primary driver of this new online offering,” said Myles Gartland, Ph.D., director of graduate business programs. “With a booming tech industry, we continue to see plenty of interest in advanced degrees in data analytics. But there are a lot of students who want to put their education to work today, instead of having to wait until all the stars align.”
State-of-the-art classroom video capture and live streaming technology, combined with 24-hour tech support, make this offering possible. And Gartland said no matter where students study, they will have access to the career and academic coaching, in addition to campus amenities, that help set the Helzberg School’s business education offerings — including its nationally recognized strength in business intelligence and analytics — apart.
“It’s the same faculty, the same class discussions, the same content that you would find attending courses on campus,” said Cheryl McConnell, Ph.D., dean of the Helzberg School of Management. “The difference here is in being able to meet a student wherever they are in life with that same high-quality experience.”
In addition to the MS-BIA, online certificate programs in analytics and insights and health care management will also be offered online.
