With so many possible paths for students to take after high school, it’s never too early for them to start thinking about the future.
This was exactly the approach taken by a group of students from Center High School during a recent trip to Rockhurst University. On March 30, 54 sophomores from the school spent the day getting the college experience. They attended classes, met with faculty and talked with other students about why they chose to go to pursue a college degree.
This day trip to Rockhurst was even more motivation for Sarah Goodman to come to college.
“Seeing my brother drop out of high school made me want to go to college,” she said. “I just don’t want that for myself. I want something better. Even though some people say you don’t need to go to college to get a job, I just want to have an education.”
