Men’s Golf: Fry finishes in top 20 at NCAA Regional
Senior Clarke Fry of the Rockhurst men’s golf team carded a two-under par 70 on his third and final round of the NCAA Midwest/South Central Regional Wednesday at the Jefferson City Country Club in Jefferson City, Mo. Fry finished with a final score of 220 (78-72-70) and saw improvement on each round. He finished in a tie for 19th place in the 108-player field.
Fry opened his final round with a 33 on his first nine holes. He birdied three consecutive holes on No. 12, 13 and 14. He also birdied the par-three 17th hole and the par-five seventh hole. He suffered bogeys on the third, sixth and 15th holes.
After opening the Super Regional on Monday with a six-over 78, Fry rebounded to shoot even-par 72 in the second round on Tuesday. He birdied the second, fourth and ninth holes.
Fry finishes his college career as the most decorated golf in Rockhurst history. He was a three-time All-Conference selection and qualified all four years for the NCAA Super Regional.
