Women's Tennis: Hawks earn ticket to NCAA Tournament

The Rockhurst women's tennis team has earned a ticket to the 2012 NCAA Tournament. The Hawks (12-3) are the third seed in the Midwest Regional and will face second-seeded Drury (18-4) on Monday, April 30 at 3 p.m. in the opening round at the Cooper Tennis Center in Springfield, Mo.
Great Lakes Valley Conference champion Lewis is the top seed in the Midwest, and will play either Grand Valley State or Northwood in the second round. Lewis jumped from No. 3 to No. 1 in the rankings after defeating Rockhurst and Drury to win the GLVC Tournament last weekend in Springfield, Mo.
With a victory over Drury, the Hawks would advance to the NCAA Sweet 16 May 16-19 in Louisville, Ky.
