Baseball: Hawks outslug Bearcats, 15-10
Scott Bradbury posted five hits and drove in four runs to power Rockhurst to a 15-10 victory over Northwest Missouri State Tuesday in Maryville, Mo. Bradbury hit run-scoring doubles in the first and ninth, singled home a run in the eighth and had a sacrifice fly in the fourth. In his 13 last games, he is hitting .536 (30 for 56) with eight multi-hit games.
The Hawks jumped out to a 9-3 lead in the third inning. Rockhurst scored in all but two innings and finished with 19 hits. Tyler Gans posted three hits and two RBIs. Sean Carter, Ryan Porter and Jonathan Curtis each collected two hits. Carter, Patrick Chandler and T.J. Dailey added two RBIs apiece. Nick Lichtenberger (2-3) pitched the first five innings to get the win.
The Hawks (19-12, 10-8 GLVC) return to conference play at Missouri S&T on Monday, April 16 as the four-game weekend series was postponed due to inclement weather.
