Women's Tennis: Rielley named GLVC Player of the Week
Rockhurst senior Maureen Rielley has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women’s Tennis Player of the Week for the first time this season. Rielley compiled a perfect 4-0 record at the No. 1 singles and doubles slot to help guide the Hawks to a pair of conference wins over Missouri-St. Louis and Maryville.
In Friday’s 9-0 sweep of Maryville, Rielley recorded a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Chelsea Travis. She then teamed with Erin Bales to post an 8-0 win over Maryville’s Travis and Valerie Saxton. Rielley returned Saturday to help guide the Hawks to a 5-1 defeat of Missouri-St. Louis. Rielley and Bales defeated UMSL's Louisa Werner and Danielle Henkel 8-2. Rielley then solidified another point for the Hawks as she cruised to a straight-set 6-4, 6-2 victory over Werner.
Rielley has compiled an 11-6 singles record and 12-4 record in doubles this season. The Hawks (9-2, 4-1 GLVC) will resume their conference schedule at Quincy on Friday, April 13.
