Normal Campus Operations to Resume Fall 2021
Rockhurst Student, Faculty and Staff Companions,
We recently announced that the University plans to hold in-person classes this fall at normal classroom capacity. Today, in a video from Fr. Curran, we share the news that we also will resume normal operations in just about every aspect of campus life with a few restrictions. In-person events will return, including those to which we invite our alumni and the community. Students will be able to visit each other in their residential spaces. Dining facilities will offer full capacity seating. Student organizations will be able to resume their events and activities.
In other words, things will be much as they were before the pandemic. The current rate at which the population is being vaccinated and a recent survey of students, faculty and staff about vaccination indicate that approximately 90 percent of our campus community is likely to be vaccinated by the beginning of the fall semester. This greatly reduces the risk of COVID transmission. We anticipate that we may still be wearing masks and still using the Campus Clear app to monitor health and, of course, if the situation changes, we will adjust our plans as necessary according to guidance that comes forward from health officials at that time.
We look forward to welcoming new Hawks this fall and to re-energizing our campus life!
