Faculty Update - Center for Excellence in Teaching & Learning (CETL) Update and Workshops

Friday, March 13, 2020

I’m writing to you in my role as Director of the Center for Excellence in Teaching & Learning (CETL) at Rockhurst.  Please see the attached resource that provides information to assist with instructional continuity given the disruption to classes taught on Rockhurst’s campus.  In addition to helping address pedagogy-related questions, I can also help you with using Canvas to deliver your course online.

Adjuncts, please know that I am available to you to help facilitate your transition to moving your course online.

Workshop:  Coronavirus Contingency Plan: Merging Good Teaching Practices with Technology to Ensure Instructional Continuity

  • This interactive problem-solving session will help you transition your face-2-face course to an online format. Have your syllabus, weekly schedule, and course materials handy.  We’ll identify ways to transition our face-to-face teaching methods to the online/remote format and address any questions you have about use of Canvas for teaching.
  • Please RSVP at least one day in advance of the session you want to attend.
  • Dates:
    • Thursday March 12: 7-8 p.m.
    • Friday March 13: 12-1 p.m.
    • Saturday March 14: 8:30-9:30 a.m.
    • Monday March 16: 10-11 a.m.
    • Tuesday March 17: 1-2 p.m.
    • Other sessions TBD
  • These sessions will be held via Zoom at this link.

Also, I am available for one-on-one consultations if the above times don’t work or you’d prefer to meet individually. Feel free to email me to find a time to meet.

Lastly, please check out the calendar of events from our e-Learning office.

Best wishes and please let me know how I can help.
