Rockhurst vs. Sporting KC Exhibition Match
Sporting Kansas City will host an exhibition match against Rockhurst University at 7:30 p.m., on Tuesday, March 13, at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park. The game will be Sporting KC’s first home game of the 2012 season, as well as the team’s annual media day.
There is no charge for admission to the event. Fans can pick up their free tickets at the East Gate Box Office. All fans will be seated in the East Stand with general admission seating.
Parking is available in Lot F, allowing fans to enter through the members’ gate which opens at 5:30 p.m.
“This is a great opportunity for the team and offers great exposure for Rockhurst Athletics, particularly because our match falls on Sporting KC’s media day,” said Tony Tocco, Ph.D., men’s soccer coach. “I encourage all Rockhurst fans to come out and show your support, wear your Rockhurst gear and check out the incredible LIVESTRONG Sporting Park facilities.”
Associate head coach, Giorgio Antongirolami, secured this exhibition game for Rockhurst.
Tocco, Antongirolami and the Rockhurst community will also be supporting one of their own – Rockhurst alum and All-American defender Kyle Miller, ’11, who was drafted by Sporting Kansas City in the 2012 MLS Supplement Draft and is a product of the Sporting Kansas City Juniors youth development academy. Miller, Sporting KC’s #24, helped lead Rockhurst’s 2011 NCAA Elite 8 team.
Sporting KC tickets and merchandise will be on sale in advance of the team’s home opener at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 17, against the New England Revolution.
