Kansas City Artists, Writers Exhibit Works with Miami Collaborative
SWEAT: A Broadsheet Collaboration, an exhibition that explores the interplay of visual arts and language, will open with a public reception from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13, in the Greenlease Gallery at Rockhurst University.
SWEAT, a printmaking and writing project initiated in Miami in 2012 by Word and Image Lab, drew together local artists and writers to discuss, among other topics, the possibility of creating interdisciplinary works. As a result, the artists and writers created an exhibition of their works and produced broadsheets, which explore printmaking techniques of letterpress, lithography, etching, silkscreen, woodcut and archival ink jet prints.
This traveling Miami exhibit, SWEAT: A Broadsheet Collaboration, brings its body of work to Kansas City with an invitation to local artists and writers to join the exhibition.
The exhibit runs through March 14. For information, contact the gallery director.
