AACSB International Extends Rockhurst’s Business Accreditation
The Helzberg School of Management at Rockhurst University has earned renewal of its business accreditation by AACSB International —The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
Less than 5 percent of business schools worldwide have earned AACSB accreditation, making it the gold standard of business education. Rockhurst is the only AACSB-accredited private institution in the Kansas City area.
AACSB-accredited business programs must undergo a rigorous internal review every five years, at which they must demonstrate continued commitment to the 21 quality standards relating to faculty qualification, strategic management of resources, interactions of faculty and students. Equally important is demonstrating a commitment to continuous improvement and achievement of learning goals in degree programs.
“The fact that the Helzberg School has earned and renewed this mark of distinction demonstrates to prospective students, parents and employers of our graduates that our educational standards and commitment to excellence place us among an elite group internationally,” said James Daley, Ph.D., dean of the Helzberg School.
Rockhurst University, founded in 1910, is one of 28 Catholic, Jesuit universities in the United States. It is ranked 131 nationally on the Forbes magazine 2010 Best Colleges list.
